A Coca-Cola bottle filled with tomato juice: the bold image on the cover of their new CD is an apt symbol for the music of the group Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. Since as long ago as 1975, their songs have portrayed the soul of the people from the peninsula of Salento, the »heel« of the Italian »boot«. The seven musicians from Lecce combine the heat of the south of Italy with international songwriting and a cool pop attitude.
