»Deafman Glance« is the latest album by singer-songwriter Ryley Walker, who first came to prominence as a musician a few years ago in Chicago’s indie and jazz scene. In that vibrant musical city he collaborated with a number of exceptional musicians, who also worked on his recent albums. With »Deafman Glance« Walker was keen to produce an anti-folk record that would stand apart from his previous work. He found the perfect sparring partners for the »crazy instrumentations and surreal lyrics« in Chicago: Brian Sulpizio and Bill Mackay play electric guitar, producer LeRoy Bach is on the keyboards and Nate Lepine contributes unusual saxophone and flute sounds. Walker himself plays acoustic and electric guitar.
