The programme for this event has had to be changed as a result of the coronavirus situation
Description
Concerts at the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle are currently subject to coronavirus-related restrictions. This event is therefore going ahead with an amended programme and reduced seating capacity. There will be two concerts on 25 November 2020 at 18:30 and 21:00.
The concert was part of the subscription »NDR Bigband«. We will be in touch directly with subscribers to notify them of all alternative options.
John Hollenbeck is a drummer and composer. He played in a variety of formations, e.g. in the bands led by Bob Brookmeyer, in the Village Vanguard Orchestra and the WDR Big Band, and his own band »The Claudia Quintet« helped set a style. Hollenbeck is an experienced big-band composer, and he has thought up a special project for the NDR Big Band: a percussion quartet stands at the centre of the platform with the Big Band’s wind section grouped around it.
