Whenever Scott Tennant, William Kanengiser, John Dearman and Matthew Greif – better known as the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) – come to Hamburg, it’s not just a feast for die-hard guitar fans. Even after 40 years, this formation continues to captivate audiences with innovative programmes, intuitive musical understanding and exceptional virtuosity. In the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall the four exceptional musicians present their programme »American Guitar Masters«, with works and arrangements by a diverse cast of composers such as Ralph Towner, Frederic Hand, Frank Zappa, Michael Hedges, Chet Atkins, Jimi Hendrix and Andrew York. The performance of a composition dedicated to them by no less a figure than Pat Metheny is a particularly special highlight.
