»La voix humaine« is a prime example of a one-act opera that is easy to stage, not least due to the lower costs involved – only one soprano and one pianist are needed. However, the opera poses significant challenges for the singer: in addition to the musical demands, there is enormous emotional variation requiring a great dramatic performance. The Spanish soprano Laura Alonso Padín has mastered all these challenges. She is accompanied by the pianist Manuel Valencia, who is also from Spain.
