»A true voyage of discovery« is how Julia Lezhneva described her study of the operas written by composer Carl Heinrich Graun from Potsdam. In 2017 she made a thorough exploration of the archives of the Berlin State Library, and this turned out to be a true treasure vault for the baroque specialist with the radiant soprano voice, culminating in her latest CD project with the very first recordings of different pieces. Just like for the CD project, in this concert tonight the experienced musicians of Concerto Köln accompany Julia Lezhneva. Bavarian Radio commented full of enthusiasm: »Relaxed and nimble, she rolls off one coloratura after another with consummate ease and sets off vocal fireworks while remaining focused at all times. The notes follow one another like an invisible string of pearls.«
