CANCELLED: Florian Weiss’ Woodism

When a completely new piece of music gives you the spontaneous impression that you have known it for decades, it is a rare stroke of luck. This is undoubtedly true of »Alternate Reality«, the third album by the Swiss band Woodism around trombonist Florian Weiss. The ten tracks recorded with trombone, saxophone, double bass and drums, as well as with flute and glockenspiel at selected moments, seem as familiar as a warm coat in a snowstorm. Everything is brand new and exciting, and yet it becomes body music right away.

Jazz at the Kulturcafé is a monthly event presenting the most promising upcoming artists in the jazz and singer-songwriter scene. It is the perfect experimental platform for musicians and bands from Hamburg and all over the country. The atmosphere is laid back – and admission is free!
