CANCELLED: Concertgebouworkest / Myung-Whun Chung
Elbphilharmonie Concert Cinema on the forecourt
Due to bad weather this event has to be cancelled. All ticket buyers have been informed by e-mail.
»Elbphilharmonie Concert Cinema« is a chance to relax outside, sitting on the floor or in beach chairs, and enjoy concerts on a big screen and in outstanding sound quality – live broadcasts from the Grand Hall as well as concert recordings from the last few years.
The Concertgebouworkest and Gustav Mahler have been closely connected since 1903, when the orchestra performed both the First and the Third Symphonies with the composer himself conducting. Many more concerts followed with Mahler on the rostrum, and the orchestra even set up a Mahler Festival. Over a century later, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra remains loyal to Mahler, performing the Ninth Symphony, his last completed work in the genre, in Hamburg under South Korean conductor Myung-Whun Chung.
