Es muss nicht immer (nur) Klavier sein, wenn es um Liedbegleitung geht – so mancher vokalen Miniatur verleiht eine zusätzliche Instrumentalfarbe ihren besonderen Reiz. Im Kammermusikrecital mit Christianne Stotijn, die 2008 mit einem Echo Klassik Award ausgezeichnet wurde, ist dies nachzuhören: Auf dem Programm finden sich neben Evergreens wie Debussy »Chansons de Bilitis« vor allem Gesänge, die von Klavier und Viola begleitet werden – Sinnliches und Besinnliches von Brahms, Britten und dem deutschamerikanischen Spätromantiker Charles Martin Loeffler (1861–1935), dessen Liedkunst merklich von seinen Freunden George Gershwin und Gabriel Fauré geprägt ist. In dem Pianisten Julius Drake und dem Bratscher Antoine Tamestit stehen der niederländischen Mezzosopranistin (die übrigens zuerst ein Geigenstudium absolviert hat) zwei exzellente Solisten zur Seite und beweisen mit Brahms’ melodienseliger Sonate Es-Dur, wie viel Gesang auch in reiner Instrumentalmusik stecken kann.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
