Rising Stars präsentiert vom Concertgebouw Amsterdam und vom Palais des Beaux-Arts Bruxelles
Schon im letzten Jahr schwärmte ein Rezensent der New York Times nach einem Liederabend von der »warmen, glühenden und dunkel getönten Stimme« der niederländischen Mezzosopranistin Cora Burggraaf. Nun gastiert die junge Sängerin mit einem abwechslungsreichen Recital ausgewählter Lieder von Hugo Wolf und Robert Schumann über Maurice Ravel bis zu Kurt Weill in der Laeiszhalle. Cora Burggraaf studierte in Den Haag und London; Gastspiele führten sie an die Royal Opera Covent Garden und nach San Francisco. Bei den Salzburger Festspielen 2008 beeindruckte sie in Gounods »Roméo et Juliette« in der Hosenrolle des Stéphano neben Startenor Rolando Villazon. Das Hamburger Publikum kennt sie als Lucy aus der Dreigroschenoper. Begleitet wird Cora Burggraaf von Christoph Berner, der als einer führenden österreichischen Pianisten seiner Generation gilt und insbesondere für seine Mozart- und Schumann-Interpretationen mehrfach ausgezeichnet wurde.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
