Festive music for Advent

Rarely do people need quiet and the opportunity to reflect as much as during Advent. Yet it’s often difficult to really calm down with all the pre-Christmas stress. Sometimes, though, a few ingredients are all that’s required for some perfect Advent downtime: festive Baroque music from the Bach family, excellent musicians from Berlin and the warm and comforting sound of Albrecht Mayer’s oboe, for instance.

Concertmaster Gottfried von der Goltz and cellist Kristin von der Goltz have unfortunately had to cancel their participation in the concert with Albrecht Mayer and the Berliner Barock Solisten at short notice due to a bereavement in their closest family circle. Øyvind Gimse will stand in for Kristin von der Goltz. As it was not possible to find a spontaneous replacement for Gottfried von der Goltz, his duties will be taken over by members of the ensemble. Albrecht Mayer will conduct the works in which he himself appears as a soloist. The two symphonies will be conducted by Roxana Wisniewska. Bastian Schäfer will take on the role of first violin in the concerto BWV 1048. We would like to thank the musicians for their flexibility and commitment so that the concert can take place without any changes.
