Academy of St Martin in the Fields / Beatrice Rana / Adam Fischer
Mendelssohn: Overture to »A Midsummer Night’s Dream« & Piano Concerto No. 1 / Mozart: Piano Concerto in D minor & »Jupiter« Symphony
Tradition and a new start
The legendary Academy of St Martin in the Fields, founded in 1958 by Sir Neville Marriner, has long been one of ProArte’s regular guests. But there is something new this season: for the first time since its founding father died, the Academy is going on tour with a conductor: Adam Fischer is on the rostrum, an absolute expert on the music of the First Viennese School who has long been a regular and popular guest at the Hamburg State Opera, among other venues.
But it wouldn’t be a true »Academy programme« if it didn’t also feature an exciting soloist. In this case Beatrice Rana, who performs not one but two piano concertos with all the verve of her still young career. She too has been a familiar face for Hamburg audiences since her successful ProArte debut in February 2022!
