The creative process can sometimes take you on a long detour. The New York composer Adam Wiltzie and the Californian pianist and composer Dustin O’Halloran got to know each other in Bologna in 2007 and quickly realised that they shared a fondness for Italian food – and for large-scale, quiet, elegiac compositions with just the right proportion of ambient parts. They formed A Winged Victory for the Sullen and released their first (self-titled) album in 2011, and the follow-up »Atomos« in 2014. This November they will be releasing their new record »The Undivided Five«, an album that directs ideas about rituals, higher powers and creative energies into forceful and flowing musical channels.
