Die Tradition des Collegium Musicum hat das Hamburger und auch das deutsche Musikleben geprägt. Das erste wurde 1660 unter der Leitung von Matthias Weckmann gegründet. Georg Philipp Telemann und Johann Sebastian Bach setzten dies in Leipzig und Hamburg fort. Ein wesentliches Merkmal ist Kollegialität, also die grundsätzliche Gleichberechtigung aller Mitglieder. Das Collegium Musicum, das sind David Movsisyan und einige Kolleginnen und Kollegen, die als erfahrene, gleichgesinnte Musiker ihre Spielfreude und Inspiration mit dem Publikum teilen möchten. Das Collegium versteht sich gleichwohl nicht als Barockorchester, sondern spielt bewusst mit modernen Instrumenten um sich die Vielfalt der Meisterwerke aller Epochen zu erschließen. Das erklärte Ziel: Musik als lebendigen Teil der Kultur präsentieren und teilen. Angesichts des modernen Kulturbetriebs und der Bedürfnisse von Musikern und Publikum etabliert sich dieser Klangkörper nicht als starres Gebilde, sondern erfindet sich immer wieder neu - mit verschiedenen Besetzungen und Epochen im Repertoire.

Chamber music series, lieder recitals, children's concerts and jazz events seem to be made for the Recital Hall of the Laeiszhalle, which can accommodate up to 640 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Please note: There are several construction sites in the immediate vicinity of the Laeiszhalle which may make it difficult to get to the concert. Please therefore plan enough time for your journey to the concert.
The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
