Description

Miles! Miles! Miles! For a whole week, the Elbphilharmonie will become an international hotspot for all jazz fans. Alongside the Miles Davis focus in the concert hall, a pop-up bar will open on the 5th floor of the old Kaispeicher from 1 to 6 May. What makes it special: the bar, which is open for just six days, will play every Miles Davis album. From »Kind of Blue«, one of the greatest jazz albums of all time, to the driving grooves of »Bitches Brew«: a veritable marathon of over 50 hours of great music and over 50 hours of opportunity to enjoy what is arguably the most exclusive and beautiful view of the whole city, overlooking the Port of Hamburg. The Pacific Bar from Hamburg’s Schanze district, which is renowned beyond the trendy neighbourhood not least for its hand-picked cocktails, will provide fine drinks and a cosy atmosphere. Entry is free, but space on site is unfortunately limited, which is why there may be waiting times at the entrance.

The programme for this evening is as follows:

17:00: Decoy, 1984
17:42: You’re Under Arrest, 1985
18:28: Tutu, 1986
19:12: Music from Siesta, 1987
19:53: Amandla, 1989
20:38: Aura, 1989
21:47: Doo-Bop, 1992
22:30: Miles & Quincy: Live at Montreux, 1993
