The organ glows at night

»I will play the saxophone and improvise on the organ, and perhaps I will play on both at the same time.« That is how John Zorn announced his involvement as an instrumentalist in the Reflektor festival dedicated to him. He was inspired to give a night-time performance of »Hermetic Organ Vol. 6« on the Grand Hall’s Klais organ after reading Edgar Allan Poe’s novellas »The Masque of the Red Death« and »The Fall of the House of Usher«. When he says he will pull out all the stops, that promise is not to be understood metaphorically. »It’s going to be intense, but I don’t think you expect anything else from me.« He’s not wrong!
