In the Elbphilharmonie’s Family Orchestra, children, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts make music together – and each as best he or she can. The dedicated amateur musicians present the result of six months of hard work and rehearsals in a final concert.

Freizeitzentrum Schnelsen e. V. is the city district’s cultural centre. The accessible venue has been a cultural hub and meeting place – a community centre for young and old – for more than 25 years, serving people even beyond the districts of Schnelsen, Niendorf, Lokstedt and Eidelstedt. FZS puts on more than 100 courses each year in the fields of languages, computers, physical exercise and creative activities. School bands and amateurs get their chance to perform here – be it comedy, cabaret, live music, drama, children’s theatre, readings or lectures.
