Star pianist Igor Levit opens this subscription series with Ferruccio Busoni’s exuberant and virtuosic Piano Concerto of 1904 – followed by the Oslo Philharmonic under the exciting young conductor Klaus Mäkelä, a Handel evening in the Laeiszhalle with the acclaimed tenor Ian Bostridge and a concert by the San Francisco Symphony under artist-in-residence Esa-Pekka Salonen. The series’ closing concert is an opportunity to experience the brilliant Barbara Hannigan conducting and singing charming and rousing ballet suites by Igor Stravinsky and Jacques Offenbach.
