In response to current developments, the planned spotlight on Valery Gergiev has been cancelled
As a result of Valery Gergiev’s continued silence on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the concerts with Gergiev and the Mariinski Theatre Orchestra in the Elbphilharmonie have been cancelled. After the City of Munich terminated its collaboration with Gergiev as the chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic, he will also not be conducting the Munich Philharmonic in the planned concert in the Elbphilharmonie in May.
