Yuri Bashmet / Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble
Final Concert »Russian Seasons«
The closing concert of »Russian Seasons« in Germany promises to deliver the authentic sound of Russia. Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble, which Bashmet formed in 2002, present a special programme on period instruments. In addition to a string orchestra arrangement of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s »Souvenir de Florence«, they also perform two pearls from the lively recent and contemporary Russian music scene: Alfred Schnittke’s Trio Sonata (Yuri Bashmet’s orchestration) and Kuzma Bodrov’s »Reflections« on a Paganini theme. The virtuosos performing these works are all highly gifted young graduates of the legendary Moscow Conservatory, and they play on valuable loan instruments from Russia’s State Collection of Musical Instruments, which was established exactly 100 years ago – among them masterpieces by Amati, Stradivarius, Guarneri and Bergonzi.
This concert is supported by »Russian Seasons« in Germany as well as the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
