Captivating
»Catch!« – the name of this Hamburg trio is its programme, for the three lady musicians regularly catch the attention of their audience, grabbing and delighting them with their playing. In the process, they bring out to virtuoso effect the timbres of the clarinet, the cello and the piano, and set out to discover unheard-of contemporary sounds.
In the ten years since it was founded, the Trio Catch has inspired countless composers to write for them. Thus tonight the three musicians present two works written for them in recent years, as well as a piece by Hungarian composer Judit Varga and one by the Austrian Matthias Kranebitter. For her »Sugarcoating #2«, Sara Glojnarić has made use of a huge collection of audio features from today’s pop music, while in Isabel Mundry’s »Sounds, Archeologies«, the characteristics of the individual instruments are explored along entirely analogue lines.
