Polnisches Streichquartett Berlin
Festive concert: »50 Years of German-Polish Society Hamburg«
The Polish String Quartet of Berlin consists of members of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and was founded in 2002. Great success with their interpretations of contemporary Polish chamber music prompted the quartet to set up the European Forum for Polish Music (Berlin) ten years ago, with world-famous composer Krzysztof Penderecki as its honorary chairman. One particulary notable music project initiated by the Forum was entitled »Poland Abroad«, and was dedicated to all those Polish composers who were forced into exile in order to survive. The ensemble’s debut in the Laeiszhalle is a musical highlight in the programme of the series »50 Years of the Hamburg German-Polish Society«.
