For the best part of 20 years now, pianist, composer and bandleader Stephan König has been uniting the creative forces of the Leipzig jazz scene in the LeipJAZZig-Orkester. Thirteen jazz soloists have been playing together in the ensemble since 1998: in thoroughly unusual combinations, they experiment with jazz classics as well as with Balkan rhythms, rock, Indian folk music and twelve-tone music.
