The Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra’s Academy Concert traces a dramatic arc from the medieval songs of Hildegard of Bingen, via the fifteenth century, to the time of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Johannes Brahms – placing vocal compositions and chamber music side by side. Featuring guest performances by a Philharmonic State Orchestra wind ensemble and the American choir Chanticleer.
