»Glottal Wolpertinger« / Jan St. Werner

Jan St. Werner created his sound installation Glottal Wolpertinger for a radio project for Documenta 14. It consists of eight different channels that were originally transmitted singly on terrestrial frequencies, and are now heard together, acoustically superimposed on one another. The result is »a literally endless flow of sound, a mass of vibrations that is continually expanding« (Deutschlandfunk Kultur). These »drones« are supplemented by sounds played by guitarists Aaron and Bryce Dessner – partly live, partly on tape.
