Description

The Saint Petersburg-born composer Grigori Frid has set the diary of all diaries to music in a mono-opera. On 9 November, a key date in German history, the renowned Mariinsky Theater brings its poignantly scored setting of the »Diary of Anne Frank« to the Elbphilharmonie stage to mark the 60-year anniversary of the city twinning partnership between Hamburg and Saint Petersburg. Schoolchildren from Saint Petersburg and Hamburg are involved in the production, both taking care of the set design and seeking a cultural exchange.
