Camerata Bern / Ilya Gringolts
Corelli / Locatelli / Mendelssohn Bartholdy
A celebration of the violin
»It is barely possible to play the violin more expressively and uncompromisingly«, writes Harald Eggebrecht of the Süddeutsche Zeitung about the exceptional violinist Ilya Gringolts. He was only 16 years old when he won the prestigious Paganini Competition. Since then, Gringolts has been applying his virtuosity to produce a never-ending stream of sophisticated interpretations. Together with Camerata Bern, he presents a programme from the period between the end of the seventeenth century to the start of the nineteenth, in which the art of the violin came into bloom in Italy.
