    : Hamburg International Music Festival

    The compelling finale of the Elbphilharmonie season: once again, a host of top-class orchestras and soloists are performing at the Music Festival. This year, in unique ways and with plenty of wonderful music, they will be exploring the theme of »The End«.

    : Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln

    Franz Schmidt's monumental oratorio »Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln« (The Book with Seven Seals) ignites apocalyptic drama with late Romantic force. Manfred Honeck conducts the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, two choirs and renowned soloists.

    : Balthasar Neumann Choir & Guests

    A programme inspired by the Dance of Death: the Balthasar Neumann Choir, together with Elbphilharmonie organist Iveta Apkalna and others, presents a sonic panorama ranging from the comforting Bach and Brahms to a wild dance featuring organ and percussion.

    : Utopia / Vilde Frang / Teodor Currentzis

    Conductor Teodor Currentzis and his orchestra Utopia present Gustav Mahler’s powerful First Symphony and Alban Berg’s moving Violin Concerto, performed by Vilde Frang. Two works spanning emotional intensity and refined sound.

    : Scharoun Ensemble Berlin

    The Scharoun Ensemble, comprising members of the Berlin Philharmonic, presents Hans Werner Henze’s musical setting of Hölderlin’s poetry, »Kammermusik 1958«, with tenor Siyabonga Maqungo taking the solo part.

    : Quartett zum Ende der Zeit

    In hardly any other work is the exploration of (one’s own) mortality felt as keenly as in Olivier Messiaen’s moving »Quatuor pour la fin du temps«. In Hamburg, a veritable all-star line-up is now taking on this piece.

    : Arcadi Volodos

    Keys are unambiguous – except in Chopin's case, who brought poetry to the piano. Star pianist Arcadi Volodos brings this magic to life, playing not only Chopin but also Schubert's last piano sonata, a masterpiece of Romanticism.

    : Khatia Buniatishvili

    Star pianist Khatia Buniatishvili celebrates her adopted home, Paris. Music by Chopin, Fauré and Saint-Saëns brings 19th-century salon culture back to life. Alongside Barbara Schöneberger and Axelle Saint-Cirel, other guests will also be in attendance.

    : Nils Wülker Quartet: Zuversicht

    Nils Wülker, Linda May Han Oh, Greg Hutchinson and Omer Klein: an international star line-up takes to the stage. The programme features the trumpeter's new album, »Zuversicht«. Music with lots of positive energy that is immediately contagious.

    : Symphoniker Hamburg / Truls Mørk / Renaud Capuçon

    Renaud Capuçon, an acclaimed world-class violinist, returns to the Symphoniker Hamburg – this time also as a conductor. His program spans from the French elegance of Fauré to the late-Romantic orchestral brilliance of Richard Strauss.

    : Teatime with Hana Chang and Nikola Meeuwsen

    The programme presented by these two young talents on violin and piano ranges from virtuosic to lyrically dreamy. Before the concert with works by W.A. Mozart and César Franck the afternoon begins with coffee, tea and cake in the beautiful Brahms Foyer.

    : Symphoniker Hamburg

    Soprano Katharina Konradi and violist Diyang Mei take centre stage in a programme that blends radiant timbres with delicate lyricism. The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra provides the orchestral backdrop, performing works including Mahler’s Fourth Symphony.

    Poetic productions, first-class ensembles and wonderful melodies: the hand-picked Funkelkonzerte concerts open up the world of music to young audiences – in the Elbphilharmonie and in many Hamburg neighbourhoods.

    Babys' and children's concerts for all age groups, music theatre for a young audience and imaginative concerts for the whole family – there is a wide range of events on offer for children and families in the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle.

  • Workshops

    : Become creative yourself

    Double bass, bongo, synthesizer: in the workshops, the Elbphilharmonie's huge fund of instruments can be explored. Children and adults are welcome in the new Season 2026/27!
