Magical Music by Mendelssohn Bartholdy

Fairies, druids and elves, bizarre occurrences and the ethereal poetry of dreams – the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Kammerchor Stuttgart and world-class solo singers immerse themselves in Felix Mendelssohn’s exuberant and humour-filled »A Midsummer Night’s Dream«. Afterwards, the orchestra celebrates the transition from winter to spring in the Goethe ballad »The First Walpurgis Night«, set to music for vocal ensemble, choir and orchestra, and featuring heathen priests and witches. For this magical and sensational Mendelssohn programme, the world-class orchestra has invited the great choral master Frieder Bernius, with whom the musicians have already produced acclaimed recordings of Felix Mendelssohn’s sacred choral works.
