For our ears, pansori, the Korean genre of musical storytelling, is just as fascinating as it is alien. Dramatic epics such as »Ong-nyeo« are performed with a minimalist set, solo singing and a small accompanying ensemble. The work tells the story of a woman plagued by misfortune, but her fate is now reinterpreted from a female perspective by the traditional singer Lee Narae.
