Description

The Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, made up of members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, is indisputably one of today’s leading ensembles for contemporary music. Simon Rattle founded the BCMG in 1987, and since then England’s composer elite, including names like Rebecca Saunders und Harrison Birtwistle, has naturally been one of its focuses. Under the baton of chief conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group also presents a work by the Australian composer Lisa Illean, who now lives in London.
