A double dose of virtuosity

Life sometimes has a way of writing curious stories: Seong-Jin Cho, for instance, can recount how he once entered a competition playing both the violin and the piano. As a violinist, he won third prize – as a pianist, he came away empty-handed. Fortunately, he chose the piano none the less. What the music world would otherwise have missed! Nor would this joint recital by two world stars ever have taken place: for the first time in their magnificent careers, Augustin Hadelich and Seong-Jin Cho meet on the chamber music stage.
