Presenting: The technical team

They are responsible for ensuring that the lighting and sound are as they should be, and that the stagecraft is working: luckily, the technical team is always on hand.

With a staff of 40, the event technology section is the Elbphilharmonie's biggest department. And rightly so: the event technicians are in charge of new concerts every day in the Elbphilharmonie's three halls – the Grand Hall, the Recital Hall and the Kaistudio.  They make sure that the lighting and sound are as they should be, and also look after less obvious things like video productions and streamings, the stagecraft and the maintenance of the technical systems. For one thing needs to be avoided at all costs, and that is a technical breakdown on stage during a concert. But that's what makes working as an event technician so exciting: at the end of the day, there is no problem that can't be solved…

The video series »Team Elbphilharmonie« presents the concert hall’s different departments and the people who work there.
