Hamburg wird sich mit dem Wetter ins Zeug legen müssen, um dem »Winterfest mit Fröst« die richtige Kulisse zu bieten. Schnee, Eis und der zugefrorene See Orla knapp 300 km nördlich von Stockholm umrahmen das Kammermusikfestival, das der Klarinettist Martin Fröst vor sechs Jahren ins Leben gerufen hat. Seitdem lädt er jährlich im Februar seine Musikerfreunde ein, zusammen mit ihm die wunderschöne Region Dalarna in ein Zentrum der internationalen Kammermusikszene zu verwandeln. Zum Glück konnte sich der international begehrte Klarinettist dann trotz Aussicht auf braunen Schneematsch und so gar nicht zugefrorener Elbe dazu entschließen, mit Shai Wosner und dem Apollon Musagete Quartett einen der Erfolge des Festivals auch in Hamburg zu präsentieren. Das Programm des Abends spiegelt die Extravaganz des »Winterfests« wider. Das Quartett des französischen Mittlers zwischen Barock und Klassik François-Joseph Gossec findet man ebenso selten auf Kammermusikprogrammen wie die Werke der beiden Landsmänner Debussy und Poulenc. Mozarts »Stadler-Quintett« ist da natürlich geläufiger. Aber man darf sich darauf verlassen, dass die Interpretation von Martin Fröst und dem Apollon Musagete Quartett einige ungehörte Aspekte dieses vielschichtigen Werks aufdeckt.

Chamber music series, lieder recitals, children's concerts and jazz events seem to be made for the Recital Hall of the Laeiszhalle, which can accommodate up to 640 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
