A Fragile World

»The idea for this album came about after I had to leave Lebanon, my homeland, and start a new life in exile,« says Lebanese singer-songwriter Tania Saleh of »Fragile« – an album about loss, uncertainty, hope and the search for a place in this world. Together with her band, she blends Arabic pop, folk, jazz and electronic soundscapes into a multi-layered sound that bridges tradition and the present, making the fragility of our times audible – poignantly and with great emotional intensity.

The songs draw on concrete experiences, allowing personal lyrics to engage with global themes: life in exile, the feeling of alienation, political tensions and ecological concerns – as well as questions of identity, belonging and the future. »Where is my place in this vast machine? What will remain of us when we have nothing left but heaven? Where is home? Where is love?«, sings Saleh.
