Feuer und Wasser. Tag und Nacht. Liebe und Hass. Gegensätze gehören zum Leben. Sie sorgen für Reibungspunkte, machen den Reiz aus. Manchmal neutralisieren sich die beiden Pole – und manchmal ergeben sie, ganz wie bei Yin und Yang in der chinesischen Philosophie, erst das komplette Ganze. In der Musik sind Kontrapunkte seit jeher ein geeignetes Treibmittel, um neue berührende Töne und Melodien entstehen zu lassen. Das war schon bei Mozart und Beethoven so, und das ist heute nicht anders. Das beste aktuelle Beispiel dafür bildet der belgische, von den Brüdern Steven und Stijn Kolacny initiierte und angeleitete Mädchenchor Scala & Kolacny Brothers. Zum Chor zählen heute insgesamt über 200 Mädchen im Alter von 16 bis 26 Jahren. Auf Tour gehen sie in unterschiedlicher Stärke. Elfenhafte Stimmen, die für einen fantastischen Klangkosmos sorgen. Vor allem, weil die Kolacny-Brüder diesen außerordentlichen Klangkörper in höchst untypische Sound-Gefilde führen: in die Welt der Klassiker aus Rock, Pop und Metal. Anstatt gediegener, aus Mainstream und Klassik gespeister, Liedgut-Kost servieren Scala & Kolacny Brothers live und auf CD Chor-unverdächtige Knaller wie: ›Smells Like Teen Spirit‹ (Nirvana), ›Creep‹ (Radiohead), ›Nothing Else Matters‹ (Metallica), ›Engel‹ (Rammstein), ›Every Breath You Take‹ (Police) oder ›She Hates Me‹ (Puddle Of Mudd). Nur von Steven Kolacny am Piano begleitet, entfacht dieses von Dirigent Stijn Kolacny geleitete Ensemble eine geradezu magische Aura. Pop? Ja, auf alle Fälle. Aber: So noch nie gehört.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

Please note: There are several construction sites in the immediate vicinity of the Laeiszhalle which may make it difficult to get to the concert. Please therefore plan enough time for your journey to the concert.
The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
