Das Poiesis Quartet ist Gewinner des renommierten Banff International String Quartet Competition 2025. Das US-amerikanische Ensemble zählt zu den vielversprechendsten Streichquartetten seiner Generation. Seine programmatische Haltung trägt es schon im Namen: »Poiesis« heißt auf Altgriechisch sinngemäß »etwas hervorbringen, das zuvor nicht existierte« – und steht so für den Anspruch des Ensembles, das klassische Repertoire mit neuen Perspektiven zu verbinden.
Kulinarisches Angebot vor dem Konzert
Frisch gestärkt lässt sich das Konzert mit den jungen Nachwuchstalenten noch mehr genießen: Die Konzertgastronomie hat vor den Konzerten von 14:45–15:45 Uhr geöffnet und bietet Kaffee, Tee und Kuchen an. Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Weg vom Kleinen Saal zum Brahms-Foyer nicht barrierefrei ist und dass die Anzahl der Plätze begrenzt ist.
In diesem Konzert spielt das Poiesis String Quartet das erste, rhythmisch geprägte Streichquartett »Calvary« (1956) von Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, das klassische Quartettform mit Einflüssen afroamerikanischer Spiritual-Traditionen verbindet. Dem gegenüber steht das Streichquartett in F-Dur von Maurice Ravel – ein Meisterwerk des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts, das mit raffinierter Harmonik und schillernden Klangfarben fasziniert.

Chamber music series, lieder recitals, children's concerts and jazz events seem to be made for the Recital Hall of the Laeiszhalle, which can accommodate up to 640 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
