Ein festliches Konzert aus Anlass des Jubiläums »150 Jahre Freundschaft Deutschland-Japan« unter der Schirmherrschaft des Generalkonsuls von Japan Der Name der japanischen Stadt Kanazawa entstand aus einer legendären Erzählung über einen Bauern, der nach Kartoffeln gegraben hatte. Als er die Kartoffeln in der Quelle Kinjo Reitaku waschen wollte, bemerkte er, dass sich Goldstaub auf ihnen befand. Seither heißt der Ort Kanazawa – »Goldquelle«. Noch heute ist die Stadt an der Küste zum japanischen Meer hin gelegen berühmt für ihr Blattgold, aber auch für Töpferwaren und Seidenmalerei. Mit seinen Samuraihäusern aus der Edo-Zeit ist Kanazawa heute ein kulturelles Zentrum Japans. 1988 unterstützte die Stadt die Gründung des Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa durch den Dirigenten Hiroyuki Iwaki. Das Ensemble war das erste multinationale Orchester Japans und bestand aus 40 Musikern aus aller Welt. Im Januar 2007 wurde der 1946 in Tokio geborene Michiyoshi Inoue neuer Chefdirigent des Orchesters. Die gemeinsame Zusammenarbeit reicht jedoch schon bis ins Jahr 1992 zurück, in dem Inoue das Ensemble in der Kanko Kaikan Hall zum ersten Mal dirigierte. Im September 2006 begann die äußerst erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit mit der 1977 geborenen Pianistin Yoko Kikuchi. Für ihre gemeinsame CD-Einspielung von Mozarts Klavierkonzert KV 467 erhielten sie, der Dirigent Ryusuke Numajiri und das Orchester aus Kanazawa im Jahr 2005 den Music Pen Club Award. Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
