She’s Auspicious

The renowned dancer Akram Khan nominated her as the »choreographer of the future«. Mythili Prakash draws on her Indo-American heritage to develop new visions from classical Indian dance. She uses philosophy and myth to explore the core questions of the human race. The age-old southern Indian discipline of bharatanatyam is a very special form of expression through dance. It challenges every part of the body and involves a subtle interplay between gesture and facial expression. Each hand and eye position represents a certain word in a nonverbal language. And from that language, Prakash has developed her own personal, modern style.
