Celestial spheres and starry splendour

The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, which is made up of the best music students from German-language universities and explores the musical canon from the Baroque to the present in large-format orchestral projects, sees itself as an orchestra of the future. Together with the cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, the orchestra – under conductor Dima Slobodeniouk – presents works by Richard Wagner, Arnold Schönberg and the current Elbphilharmonie artist in residence Esa-Pekka Salonen.
