Die Orgel der Laeiszhalle
Jennifer Bate gehört seit mehr als vier Jahrzehnten zu den bedeutendsten Musikerinnen Großbritanniens. Bereits 1974 kam ihr die Ehre zu, die BBC Proms zu eröffnen. Ihr Orgelspiel hat seit damals nichts von seiner Brillanz verloren. Und sie nichts von ihrer Spielfreude, egal auf welcher Orgel. Wenn man so erfolgreich ist wie sie, begegnet man vielen verschiedenen Instrumenten mit ihren ganz eigenen Stärken. Wie wenige sonst versteht Jennifer Bate es, diese zum Tragen zu bringen. Jennifer Bates Repertoire hat sich mit den Jahren stetig erweitert. Eine besondere Zusammenarbeit verband sie mehr als 20 Jahre lang mit dem Komponisten Olivier Messiaen, dessen bevorzugte Organistin sie war. Für ihr Gastspiel an der großen Laeiszhallen-Orgel hat die First Lady der Orgel zwar Messiaen ausgelassen, aber auch so umspannt es von dem in Lüneburg tätigen Organisten Georg Böhm bis hin zu Walter Galpin Alcock fast 300 Jahre. Der erste Höhepunkt der Orgelmusik bei Johann Sebastian Bach ist darin genauso enthalten wie die Romantik und ihr Übergang in die Moderne.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
