Heuriger mit Soyka & Stirner
»Ganz Wien« Festival
When Walther Soyka teams up with Karl Stirner to make music, traditional Viennese folk meets contemporary improvisation art. With the harmonica and zither, the duo produces an atmosphere that seems familiar and cosy, but that demands to be discovered anew time and again.
The Wienerlied (Viennese song) is without doubt a genre characterised by contrasts: pain snuggles up with sweetness, and heaviness and lightness go hand in hand. And that is exactly how it is with Soyka & Stirner, whose music moves in the primeval mud of high romance before bringing the audience back to terminable time.
The »Ganz Wien« festival brings the Wienerlied (Viennese song) in all its forms to the stages of the Elbphilharmonie. A line-up of the contemporary scene's most exciting artists exudes original Viennese flair and demonstrates the musical treasures the Austrian capital has to offer.
