Der Musiker und Regisseur Bruno Monsaingeon war bei der ersten Begegnung mit Francesco Libetta überzeugt, daß er es »wahrscheinlich mit einem der erstaunlichsten Virtuosen-Genies in der Geschichte der Musik« zu tun hatte. Dem Film, den er im folgenden Jahr beim Festival von La Roque d’Anthéron von Libetta drehte, gab er den Titel »Der Pianist des Unmöglichen«. Libetta, der eine fabelhafte, phänomenale Technik mit der Musikalität, der Intelligenz und der Kultur verbindet, die auch dem entlegensten Repertoire Poesie und Tiefe verleihen, ist mit allen legendären Pianisten von Busoni und Rachmaninow bis zu Horowitz, Lipatti und Michelangeli verglichen worden. »Der bemerkenswerte Francesco Libetta, Poet-Aristokrat des Klaviers mit dem Profil und der Haltung eines Renaissance-Fürsten« (New York Times) gibt hier mit einem Programm, das wohlbekanntes Repertoire mit Werken verbindet, die sonst kaum jemals im Konzert zu hören sind, sein Hamburg-Debüt.

Chamber music series, lieder recitals, children's concerts and jazz events seem to be made for the Recital Hall of the Laeiszhalle, which can accommodate up to 640 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Please note: There are several construction sites in the immediate vicinity of the Laeiszhalle which may make it difficult to get to the concert. Please therefore plan enough time for your journey to the concert.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
