Film: The Legend of the Suram Fortress
As part of the »Caucasus« Festival, the Elbphilharmonie is screening seven Georgian films at the Metropolis Kino (cinema) to complement the diverse musical programme – in the original language with subtitles. The films cover a varied range of subjects, from the heroic epic to family drama. The first film to be screened is »The Legend of Suram Fortress«, which was produced in 1984 in what was then the Soviet Union.

The Metropolis Kino (cinema) is located right in the heart of Hamburg. The listed building has a capacity of 281. In addition to film screenings, the venue offers three to four shows a day, with music performances, readings, film talks and lecture series on various topics. As a communal cinema and venue for the Kinemathek Hamburg, the Metropolis shows documentary, feature and experimental films ranging from cinematographic rarities and classics of film history to the latest European and international productions.

There are a few car parks in the city centre within around 10 minutes’ walk of the cinema. Unfortunately there is no parking in the immediate vicinity of the cinema.
The cinema has a lift and is fully equipped for the disabled, and is accessible for wheelchair users without assistance. The cinema also has a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
