Beethoven III
Die dritte Etappe des Beethoven-Marathons ist für die vier Musiker des Belcea Quartets vermutlich wie die abschüssige, beschattete Lindenallee an einem nicht zu warmen, aber doch angenehmen Tag für den Langstreckenläufer. Denn an diesem Abend spielt das Quartett sein Lieblingskammermusikwerk aus der Feder Beethovens. Der extreme Schwierigkeitsgrad und die immer interessanten Stimmen jedes Einzelnen seien das Besondere an dem Streichquartett cis-Moll op. 131, erzählt der Zweite Geiger Axel Schacher. Die sieben Sätze, ohne Pause aneinander gefügt, sind eine enorme Herausforderung für ein Ensemble. Auch Beethoven bezeichnete es als sein größtes Streichquartett. Das Werk, das den Abend eröffnet, gehört zur allerersten Serie von Quartetten, die Beethoven schrieb. Er orientierte sich in dieser frühen Phase an Joseph Haydn und war dann auch unsicher, ob er es wirklich veröffentlichen sollte – wozu er sich zu unserem Glück schließlich durchringen konnte. So lässt sich an diesem Konzertabend mit dem Belcea Quartet ein weiteres Mal die eindrucksvolle Wandlung des Quartettkomponisten Beethoven nachvollziehen.

Chamber music series, lieder recitals, children's concerts and jazz events seem to be made for the Recital Hall of the Laeiszhalle, which can accommodate up to 640 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
