Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy 2022/2023
Budding professional musicians under the guidance of a top-class team will spend a week working on their great passion: jazz.
Do you dream of standing on the Elbphilharmonie stage and learning from jazz greats such as Anat Cohen and Donny McCaslin? The »Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy« will make it possible! After a successful first edition in 2021, jazz musicians aged 18–30 now have another chance to spend a week working with renowned teachers. All instruments are welcome!
There are masterclasses, jam sessions, talks on various topics and lots of time for musical exchange. Together, participants and teachers will develop a programme that they will then present in a public closing concert in the Grand Hall.
Besides Anat Cohen (clarinet) as the artistic director, participants are supported by a top-class team of mentors, including Donny McCaslin (saxophone), Matt Wilson (drums), Sullivan Fortner (keys), Martin Wind (bass), Clarice Assad (vocals) and experts from the Music Education department.
