The Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi hardly needs any introduction in Hamburg. He gives numerous concerts here every year with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. He has already been their artistic director since 2004 and is also musical director of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. With the Pärnu Music Festival he established, Järvi has built himself another musical pillar since 2011. The reputation of this festival and the ensemble resident there – the Estonian Festival Orchestra – meanwhile reaches far beyond the Baltic region. Now, he returns with this ensemble and a programme that, on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Järvi’s famous compatriot Arvo Pärt, is solely devoted to his music.
