Haydn’s Sounding Creation Myth
The coronavirus meant that people had to forego the pleasure of live music, and especially choral music, for far too long. Its return to the concert platform in the Laeiszhalle will be celebrated in the 2022/23 season with an immortal masterpiece that literally radiates optimism. As part of the series »Morgen Musik«, chief conductor Sylvain Cambreling conducts Joseph Haydn’s oratorio »The Creation«.
The overture »The Representation of Chaos« was already played last year, so this time – on a Sunday morning in spring, appropriately – all three parts of the oratorio are on the programme. The vocal soloists are Mandy Fredrich (soprano), Werner Güra (tenor) and Markus Eiche (baritone), while the chorus is the Europa Chor Akademie Görlitz, whose cooperation with the Symphoniker Hamburg has already shown its mettle in countless joint concerts.
