Description

Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji (1892–1988) is one of the absolute solitaires of music history. The British composer’s epic works combine the music of his Parsi ancestors with echoes of his models Scriabin and Busoni, both of them likewise colourful and unconventional figures. British organ super-virtuoso Kevin Bowyer presents Sorabji’s Organ Symphony No. 2 with a total length of eight and a half hours – a special listening experience if ever there was one!

Booking information: The Sorabji Project is performed in two concert instalments. In the first instalment, Kevin Bowyer performs movements one and two from the Organ Symphony No. 2 and movement three in the second instalment. An interval of 2.5 hours separates the two instalments. If you book both concert instalments you will receive 20% discount off the total price. Attending the first concert instalment is not essential to understanding the concert.Go to the second concert instalment
