Dinner with depth – the successful »Story Teller« concept brings people together to eat and chat. This convivial evening focusing on the subjects of freedom and improvisation is accompanied by jazz musician Lisa Wulff, prefacing the guest appearance of jazz guitarist Mary Halvorson at the Elbphilharmonie on 15 October.

The Oberhafen Kantine was one of the last ones built in Hamburg, and is also the only one still standing: this rare, small, brick building built on the doorstep to Hamburg’s port by canteen manager Hermann Sparr in 1925 has become slightly tilted from decades of storm floods and washouts. The resulting damage and consistent danger of collapse forced the canteen to close its doors regularly. Restauranteur Sebastian Libbert took over management of the canteen in 2011.
